There’s big news for Nigerian music. D’banj and younger brother Kay Switch have signed a Pan-African distribution deal with Sony Music Entertainment.
D’banj who signed with Def Jam Records through a deal with Kanye West‘s G.O.O.D Music last year now joins Sony’s RCA Africa label while Kayswitch’s deal included a multi-album, worldwide exclusive contract. DB Records will now have their records distributed by RCA.
RCA is home to top artistes like Christina Aguilera, Kelly Clarkson, Alicia Keys, Mario, Monica, and Pitbull. D’banj’s DB Records fields Kay Switch, producers J Sleek, Deevee as well as himself.
‘Partnering with D’Banj is a seminal
event for us at Sony Music Entertainment Africa. We’ve always admired
his talent and to be able to assist with bringing D’Banj’s music to
millions of fans, established and new, across the continent is an honour
for us’, says Managing Director of Sony Music Entertainment Sean Watson.
‘It’s a new era for Africa, the
birthplace of music and I’m excited about this very powerful partnership
with Sony Music through which we will give birth together to a new era
with endless opportunities for my fans, producers, artists and the start

Just this year, D’banj and former
partner Don Jazzy parted ways after dissolving the very popular Mo’Hits
Records. Don Jazzy has also gone on to set up his own record label Mavin Records.
‘It’s always been D’banj’s dream to
see something this monumental take place in Africa. It’s a successful
business plan that will help Nigerian music and will be a gateway for
other Nigerian artistes. Let the games begin’, Bankulli Seun, D’banj’s manager told US.
The move was also facilitated by entertainment company, MCOMM.

Pop artiste Ken ‘Chuddy K‘ Agali shocked his fans last night when he allegedly tweeted on micro-blogging site Twitter about being ‘gay’.
‘I was Gay but not anymore‘, was the sentence that popped up on his @itschuddyk account raising a bit of controversy.
The tweet was made from an iPhone.
But a few hours later, the tweet was deleted with the singer stepping forward to publicly deny the ‘confession’.
‘Pls I need my true fans to fight for me!!someone hacked my acct….pls intervein on my behalf and retweet this!thanks‘, he tweeted.
‘Wait till I change my password!!then u won’t see shit tweets like that again!!after then u can belive whatever!!God will judge at d end tnx‘, he added.
The ‘Gaga crazy’ singer also attributed the act as an attempt to ‘bring him down’ as it is apparent he is making progress in his career.

The winner of the first-ever Nigeria’s Got Talent has emerged! Her name is Amarachi Uyanne and she’s just eight years old!!
Amarachi, a dancer from Benin City, Edo State, dusted off competition from nine other contestants and was crowned winner in front of a studio audience today, Saturday, December 8, 2012 at the grand finale held at Bamako Studios, Ikeja, Lagos.
Amarachi who turned eight in July is the youngest contestant on the competition.
After being screened from 10 to six, to four and then a final three, Amarachi was tonight announced winner by the show’s host Andre Blaze.
Judges Kate Henshaw, Dan Foster, Yibo Koko all seemed pleased with the result.
She walks away with a cash prize of N10m, amongst other prizes.
A mild fire which broke out behind the studio while Amarachi was delivering her final performance caused a chaos and caused her to run off stage. But emergency workers quickly put out the fire.
There were musical performances from EME’s Skales and Niyola as well as and upcoming crowd pleaser Dammy Krane.
‘I am happy what happened has happened. Every parent should allow their kids do whatever they can do to display their talents‘, Emike Uyanne, Amarachi’s mother told Rockaholic ent, a few minutes after her daughter was announced winner.

Apply an oil free moisturizer on your back during the day so that the skin is soft and supple. Some shimmer powder would do the job of providing the ultimate shine.
‘After you’ve worn the dress, spray illuminating powder for a subtle shine. For the dusky ones, apply a bronzer stick bronze powder,’ adds Ambika Pillai.
What not to do
*Do not wear a very tight dress. A dress that is too tight will make your skin spill out, making it appear like a bulge
*A loosely fit dress is a big no-no. A loosely fit number will expose more than what you’d have liked to, especially when you sit– you will unintentionally show more skin that you were prepared for. A dress rehearsal at home will work.
*Do not eat a lot of junk before that backless dress day, as too much junk food can lead to acne on your back, which can look very unflattering.
